Welcome to those of you joining me from Disney with Babies, Toddlers, & Preschoolers and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 4th stop on our Magical Blogorail.
Jambo!
I am visiting Animal Kingdom searching for some delicious unique snacks. At home I am the queen of snacking; I am so busy during the day that grabbing some quick snacks is the best way to keep my engine going. When I’m in the parks my major go to snack is the Premium Mickey Ice Cream Bar, but I decided to go on the hunt for something a little more unique and just as delicious!
My first stop is in Discovery Island at Gardens Kiosk for a great snack to get my day started, Hummus with Vegetables. Upon ordering my energy packed snack I discovered this kiosk is so much more than just a snack cart. They offer a range of pre-packaged gluten-free snacks and to one up that, this kiosk can help you plan your next meal. They offer information on allergy and other dietary needs within Animal Kingdom restaurants. I don’t have any food allergies but I can see what a great resource this food kiosk could be for someone that does.
Now it’s time to have some fun exploring Discovery Island before I stop for my next snack >>>>>>>
I am on the look out for another snack location so I’m off to visit Africa. Before I wander onto Pangani Forest Exploration Trail I am in need of something a little sweet…. Ok a lot sweet! Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery looks like a perfect spot to find a sweet treat, in fact upon further inspection it looks to be a spot to find many sweet treats! I am choosing the White Chocolate Elephant Cupcake; it is made of chocolate cake and topped with a sweet vanilla cream frosting. The frosting is topped with toasted coconut, adding another layer of flavor. In the center is a peanut-butter textured frosting and finally
small ice crystals mixed in with the tea and it sure hits the spot on this rather warm day at Animal Kingdom!
Well I think that wraps up our day of snacking at Animal Kingdom. I might just take a spin on Kali River Rapids before heading out. Depending on how soaked I may get I might need to stop for a hot tea!
Hakuna Matata and keep on snacking!

Oh, wow! I absolutely love elephants. How have I missed that cupcake??? I also need to try that frozen chai – yum! I guess I don’t snack much when I’m at AK 😉
That cupcake looks AMAZING! I’m not a huge fan of white chocolate though – but the rest of it sounds delicious. What I really want to try is that frozen chai! I think I’ll add that to my list for our next visit!
I am not a big white choc. fan either Heidi.. but oh boy Peanut butter!! now you are talking my language!
What a wide variety of snacks to choose from! I love some hummus so I might have to stop by and check it out! When you are at Animal Kingdom one of my favorite snacks — especially in the heat of a summer day — is one of the frozen fruit bars — oh my gosh, they are so good! Try one out next time you can, you won’t be sorry! Based on your selections today, though, do you think you know which one is your favorite? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Hi Mike 🙂 I love the frozen Fruit Bars too :)I think it would depend on my mood .. which is my fav… it’s terrible to say … but I just can’t get enough of those Mickey Bars.. but I wanted to show some more unique snacks that AK had to offer 😉
Those are great snacks! I’ve had a similar cupcake at Kusafiri but without the coconut- it looks delicious. Have you tried any of their other treats? They look great!
Hi Jenn.. I have not but the Brownie Bear Paw looks real good!! 🙂
Tried my first Mickey ice cream bar there last month and yum, but FROZEN CHAI!?! You’re totally speaking my language. omg – yum. I want some now!!
Hi Good Girl Gone Redneck 🙂 Man !! Mickey Bars.. I can’t get enough!! Frozen Chai.. something different and unique.. fun to try new things 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
I really wish I was in the Animal Kingdom right now! My husband loves that cupcake. Kusafiri is a great spot for breakfast. It’s never crowded.
Hi Rolling with the Magic 🙂 I LOVE AK too.. it took me a while to love it though..but now I think it is such an awesome place! I read about a lot of people passing Kusafirir by because it was tucked in a corner…thanks for stopping by 🙂
Those cupcakes are so darn cute! It would be hard for me to eat the elephant!
I agree 400 Miles to Disneyland! I would try to keep it but I think the heat would melt it inside my backpack, lol 😉
Great AK snack list! I’m a sucker for cupcakes so I will have to try that one. Royal Anandapur is always a must stop for me. I love their iced tea! Thanks for the Garden Kiosk suggestion too. Frozen bananas dipped in chocolate are my favorite AK snack. Have you ever tried one?
Hi Lisa 🙂 Frozen Bananas dipped in choc. bring back special memories for me 🙂 That is the snack my mom would always get when we went to Disney when I was little .. she would make them at home all the time.. bringing a little of Disney to our home 🙂 thank s for stopping by!
Great list! The Gardens Kiosk is a great resource for special diets information at AK. I knew they had packaged gluten-free snacks, but I didn’t know about the hummus and veggies. Thanks for sharing that – I’ll have to try it next time!
Thanks for stopping by Tricia!
I’ll admit, we’ve not gone off the beaten path and tried any of these amazing snacks. Just looking at them is decadent!! BUT, I MUST tell my son about the Frozen Chai- that is right up his palm tree. Thanks for the tips and drools. 😀
Thank for stopping by Distherapy! I have a heard time veering off the path leading me to my next attraction as well… I learned a couple things myself in reviewing AK snacks 😉
I’ve missed the hummus cart!! I need to check that out. I love some good hummus!! Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery is one of my favorites! I always enjoy their cupcakes. Does the Frozen Chai taste like tea? I’ve never had it…
Hi Beth 🙂 Chai doesn’t taste like a regular cup of tea – depending on the flavor would depend on the complete taste.. but it is usually a mix of sweet and spicy… Here is a great link to explain chai 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
