Yoga – and you

I believe that a yoga practice is a personal ceremony with Self. It’s an invitation to slow down and move from the thinking mind, where most of our day is spent, into the feeling body, where keys to emotional and physical wellness live.

Think of your mat like a magic carpet that can transport you into a personal space where you can move or be still and listen to your body and respond to its needs.

Your most important relationship is with YOURSELF.
Each time you come to your mat, you are sending your body a message that you care about its needs and are ready to listen.

My intention is to guide you through focused observation, conscious breathing and intentional movement, to help cultivate a trust connection between your body, mind, spirit and your environment.

There is not a one-size-fits-all practice. Each person’s journey on their mat (and off their mat) will be a unique experience.

What can you expect from a class.

First, expect to feel welcomed.
I hope that you will feel comfortable whether it’s your first yoga class or your millionth.

My desire is to create a space where your body feels comfortable to express it’s needs and emotions- joy, sorrow, strength, weakness, anger, confusion, connection, or fear.

We will focus on:
  • Understanding our breathing patterns, how to breathe fully, and how to use your breath as a guide inward.
  • Observing bodily sensations.
  • Moving our body to not only increase strength and flexibility, but also as a means of release and interoception, understanding and feeling what’s going on inside the body.

My wish is that you will approach each class with an open mind, not being attached to any particular outcome, and allow your “magic carpet” to transport you to wherever it is you need to go in the moment.

This practice is for you if:

– You’re ready & willing to gift yourself time & space for 1 hour of Self-Care
– You need to learn how to cultivate a Self-Care practice.
– Life feels like a whirlwind or maybe a tornado and you’re ready to touchdown and ground yourself.
– You’ve lost yourself giving so much to others and you’re ready to re-discover YOU.
– You’ve just been through a taxing or life changing experience and you’re looking for peace.
-You’re ready to find & focus on what’s really important to you.
