To stand in front of the Train Station and watch Mickey and friends ride in and greet you is an overwhelming feeling of excitement. Standing in the first rays of morning sunshine when the day is fresh and new as Main Street USA opens up with uplifting tunes and scents that feel like warm hugs and a sight of dreams comes true…..
When I visit the Magic Kingdom, I make every effort to be standing in front of the Train Station by 8:50am (for a 9am opening). There is something truly magical, beyond explanation to hear Main Street’s Mayor welcome you to, “The Most Magical Place on Earth” and watch Main Street’s Citizen’s dance to ‘Good Morning’. Then to hear the whistle of a train, not just any train! Here comes Mickey and other Disney favorites riding in on the Walt Disney World Railroad to the toe tapping tune ‘Casey Junior’.
I hold my breath with excitement and choke back my tears as Mickey and friends disembark and welcome us all once again. I can’t help to stretch my hand up as high as can be waving vicariously to Mickey; then the fireworks shoot into the sky and off I go onto many adventures that will last a lifetime!
