Ten Items I Must Have in My Disney Park Bag

Over the years my “must have” items in my park bag has significantly changed.  I have gone from, nearly nothing in my 20’s to over packing and over planning as a new mommy in my 30’s.  Now in my 40’s, I think I have it condensed down to the most important and useful – must have items.

Before I get to the items, let’s talk about the bag itself.  I have gone through many styles before settling on one that seems the most comfortable and practical.

I started out with a backpack moving into a tote, then shoulder bag, onto a cross body.

park bag

The winner is the backpack!  It is the most comfortable and distributes weight more evenly… so onto the items in the bag!

Ten Must Have Items

  • Sunglasses- Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall these are a must have.  Coming out of a dark attraction into the bright Florida sun can be blinding, you’re liable to walk right into an oncoming parade without even knowing it!

sun

  • Smartphone- Lets face it; it’s hard to live without this device.  Checking wait times for an attraction on the opposite side of the park is much easier with the flick of your finger, than taking a 10-15 minute walk to check it out… BIG time saver 😉

smart phone

  • Camera- Though I can use my Smartphone for pictures, my camera can take many shots my phone can’t handle, memories are beyond precious to capture!
  • Hand Sanitizer – A MUST!  In my “later” years I have become a bit of a germaphobe – carrying this eases my mind and I find anyone vacationing with me is happy to use it as well.

santizer

  • Hand wipes- when traveling with a child there is always a need for a hand wipe.  Getting to a bathroom for soap and water is not always an option – so a hand wipe and some sanitizer does the trick!
  • Clorox Wipes- my germaphobe side being exposed again.  When I sit down to eat I like a clean table, so I like to give it a good wipe down, (please don’t judge me too harshly –haha).
  • Poncho – You never know when there can be a Disney down pour – much easier to throw a poncho on and keep moving.  Umbrellas weigh your bag down and when opened make it hard to maneuver through the crowds.

016 (3)

  • Sun Block- We always apply before leaving the room – but there have been times when a second application is needed, no one wants sun burn on their vacation!
  • Bottle of water- I like to grab a couple to bring to the park.  In the hot sun keeping hydrated is a must, especially with little ones.  We use snack credits for additional bottles if needed.  If you want to get savvy, ask a cast member at a Quick Service for a cup of ice (free of charge) and TaDa… ice water 😉
  • MOUSE EARS!  Never leave “home” without them!  You always want to look your very best in case you run into Mickey!

hats

There you have it, the ten items I must carry in my Disney park bag.  Of course there are things that sneak in there, like my daughter’s autograph book and pen, stickers from cast members, etc.  But these items I never leave “home” without!

What are your MUST CARRY items in your Disney park bag?

Disney Dining Plans – Do They Fit in Your Budget?

Disney Dining can be a bit intimidating and the dining plans a bit confusing.  How can you be sure if you are spending your money wisely and which plan should you choose for your family vacation?

dining-plan

I have added Disney’s Dining Plans to my Magic Your Way Package many times but have changed my outlook on which one was best through out the years.  I personally like the Disney Dining Plans.  I like to pre-plan my meals which include making reservations prior to arriving, (this has become a necessity if you are planning on including Table Service Meals into your vacation experience.)  A pre-paid dining plan means less cash for you to carry, (tips are not included in the dining plans unless otherwise stated) and a smaller bill at the end of your vacation since the meals are already paid for!  If you like a bare bones meal with no extras included and prefer to bring a bottle to fill at the water fountain, a dining plan may not be a good choice for you.  Dining Plans are for ages 3 years on up – 2 years old and under may share from a person’s plate within your party.

money

There are several questions that are important to answer before you make the decision if a dining plan is the way for you to dine around “The World”.

1)  If you have a dining budget for your Disney vacation, the dining plan may or may not work within your limitations.

2)  Know your family’s eating habits, which meal is most important or are all three meals an important part of your day.

3)  Will you want to schedule sit down meals (Table Service) or taking time away from park attractions is out of the question?

4) Will Character Meals be an important part of your vacation?

5)  Do you like to include an appetizer and dessert with your meal?

6) Would a refillable beverage mug used at your resort be a cost efficient option for your family?

We are going to focus on three out of the five dining plans offered.  The two we are not discussing today, Premium Package and Platinum Package include alcoholic beverages as well as other discounts and amenities.  If you are interested in these packages (click Premium and Platinum).

First it is important to understand the amount of nights you are staying at a Disney resort is the amount of meals you will receive with that plan.

Children between the ages of 3-9 must order from the children’s menu if one is provided.

Let’s take a look at the:

 Quick Service Dining Plan

A Quick Service meal is also called a Counter Service meal.  You order your meal at the counter, pay at the time the order is placed and seat yourself.

With this plan you will receive 2 Counter Service meals, 1 snack and 1 resort refillable mug per person each day that you remain at your resort over night.

You will receive for:

Breakfast: 1 meal or combo meal and a non-alcoholic beverage.

Lunch and Dinner: 1 meal or combo meal, 1 dessert, and 1 non-alcoholic beverage.

A snack can be purchased from kiosks or Quick Service locations and Bakeries.  A snack can be a treat or a beverage; look for the snack symbol on the menu of the location you are purchasing from.

dining-plan-snack

Along with the Quick Service Dining you will receive a resort refillable mug.  These mugs are only available for refills at the resort you are staying at, so please make sure to obtain this mug from your “home” resort.  They are embedded with a microchip that will only read that particular resort’s drink machines.

resort

The Quick Service plan is a great plan for families that are not interested in taking blocks of time out of their day for sit down dining.  If you like quick or on the go meals and can just eat a snack to get you by during breakfast or lunch – this is the plan for you.  If you are not interested in desserts with your meal and a refillable resort drink mug is not a cost efficient decision for your family, then a Disney Dining plan may not be a budget wise decision for your vacation.

quick

Next up is:

Plus Dining

With this plan you will receive 1 Counter Service meal, 1 Table Service meal, 1 Snack and 1 resort refillable mug per person each day that you are remaining at your resort over night.

A Table Service meal is a meal that you are seated by a host/hostess and are serviced by a Cast Member who will act as your waiter/waitress.

The Quick Service Meal of your choice will include:

Breakfast: 1 meal or combo meal and a non-alcoholic beverage.

Lunch and Dinner: 1 meal or combo meal, 1 dessert, and 1 non-alcoholic beverage.

The Table Service Meal will include: 1 entrée OR 1 full Buffet, 1 dessert (lunch and dinner only), and 1 single-serving, non-alcoholic beverage

A snack can be a treat or a beverage, look for the snack symbol that looks like this*** on the menu of the location you are purchasing.

I really love this particular dining plan.  Having both Quick Service and Table Service meals, you get the best of both worlds.  You do not have to use one of each every day; you can choose to use them in any order on any day of your magical stay.  Table Service meals can be used for Character Meals which is a huge savings out of your pocket!  If you want to reserve a Signature Meal (an exclusive top notch Disney dining experience) or Dinner Show, you can do so by using two Table Service credits per person per meal at your select location.

DSCF0653

And finally:

Plus Deluxe Dining

With this plan you will receive 3 meals in which you may choose between Quick Service and Table Service, 2 snacks, 1 resort refillable mug per person, per day of each night staying at a Disney resort.

Each Quick Service meal includes: 1 entrée, 1 dessert (lunch and dinner only)
1 single-serving, non-alcoholic beverage

Each Table Service meal includes: 1 appetizer (lunch and dinner only), 1 entrée and 1 dessert (lunch and dinner only), and 1 single-serving, non-alcoholic beverage –
Or
1 full buffet

Snacks can be a treat or a beverage, look for the snack symbol that looks like this*** on the menu of the location you are purchasing.

When I started bringing my husband and daughter to WDW, we purchased this dining plan.  We had a great time dining through Walt Disney World and have enjoyed many Character Meals as well as a Dinner Show by using this plan.  That being said, it did become stressful at times trying to meet reservation times while enjoying park attractions.  There were times we had to cancel meals because it became overwhelming.  (Some Table Service meals and Dinner Shows now charge cancellation fees.)

DSCF0605

Disney Dining Plans are a great way to experience another level of Disney’s entertainment and magic.  They can save you some money but not if you are on a strict budget.  If you like to bring your own meals and snacks to the park, the dining plan would not be an option to help you save your dollars.  Make sure to choose a plan that allows flexibility within your day if that is important to you.  Over scheduling meals can be overwhelming when trying to meet reservation times along with FastPass+ schedules.  Each of these three plans offers a resort refillable mug that is built into the dining plan; on their own they will cost $17.99 for Length of Stay visits longer than three days.  Remember these mugs can only be refilled at your home resort where you will obtain them.  If your family does not indulge in soft drink beverages, teas, coffees, or hot chocolate then this added expense built into the plan is not cost efficient for you.

worth

While vacationing at any Disney park it is important to do a little homework.  It can be overwhelming with the immense amount of information available to help make your stay magical.  If this is the case for you, please know that Two Moms and a Mouse- Nicole is a Disney College of Knowledge Graduate and can help you plan these important details, taking the stress out of such an exciting time.  If you would like her help or just want to inquire about Disney information her contact info is here

I hope this article can help you decide if and what dining plan is best for you!

Disney Down Pours

One thing I have learned to pack in my bag when heading to the parks is a PONCHO! It is not unlikely, depending on the time of year you visit “The World” to be caught in a down pour. Umbrellas can get in the way and are hard to maneuver through the crowds, especially when handling little ones.  I purchase my family’s ponchos at a local $ Store or at Publix, which is ALWAYS a must stop on the way to our Magical Destination.

Sum Up Sunday

  • Casey’s Corner in the Magic Kingdom now has an enlarged outdoor seating area.  With a refurbished indoor and outdoor area, I am sure we will see more guests enjoying a good ole’ American Hot Dog and fries.  I think the area looks great!

sum up 1

  •  Magic Kingdom’s Main Street hub is in the beginning stages of it’s refurbishment to increase the area for less congestion, especially during and after nighttime shows.  Construction walls are currently in place along large sections of the hub.

  •  Have you been a guest at Tomorrow Land Terrace Wishes Dessert Party?  Now Epcot, World Showcase has a new dessert party during Illuminations. In a special viewing area you can dine on delicious desserts from select countries and partake in sparkling wines as well as lemonade, teas and coffee.  The cost is $49.00 per adult and $29.00 per child.  This sounds like a lovely affair 🙂

  •  Annual Passholders are now able to receive their MagicBands.  This will give them the ability to make advanced FastPass+ reservations.

“To get your MagicBand, link your pass in ‘My Disney Experience’ and you will see an option to customize MagicBands. Choose a color and name to be printed on the band, and it will be shipped in late March, arriving in 7 to 10 days.

The MagicBand package will include the MagicBand, a discount card, and an Annual Passholder exclusive MagicSlider to customize the band. The discount card is either gold or black, with only gold indicating that parking is included. To validate parking, guests can either present a MagicBand, RFID pass, or the gold discount card. To obtain discounts on merchandise or dining, passholders will need to present either the discount card with photo ID, or the actual Annual Pass and photo ID. Ultimately, the MagicBands or RFID media will allow access to discounts and the discount card will not be required.

Unfortunately MagicBands are only being shipped to within the USA at this time, and no local pickup of MagicBands is available at Walt Disney World for passholders. For international guests with no USA delivery address, the only option is to continue to use the RFID ticket.”

If you are an Annual Passholder and not staying at a WDW Resort, your window to reserve FastPass+ has been lessened to 30 days.

“Passholders can now make FastPass+ reservations up to 30 days in advance, and can hold up to 7 days of FastPass+ reservations across a 30 day rolling window.

For a Passholder staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, the window remains at 60 days in advance of check-in, where FastPass+ reservations can be held for 7 days or the length of the hotel stay.

If you have already made FastPass+ reservations under the 60 day policy, those selections will still be honored unless you choose to cancel them.

Passholders not staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel will not be able to add charging privileges on their MagicBands.”

And Last But Certainly Not Least …….

  • In April our Frozen Princesses, Anna and Elsa will be relocated to Fairytale Hall in the Magic Kingdom!  Because of their immense popularity World Showcase has experienced a large amount of congestion, making it increasingly difficult to move through the area.  FastPass+ is available at Fairytale Hall, so advanced reservations can be made.  April 20th is their projected debut.

Walt Disney World Resort- Guide to the Magic- For Kids

Author of book: Tim Foster

I found this children’s WDW travel guide while thumbing through a subscription of Celebrations Magazine (if you are not a subscriber I highly recommend it).

celbration

Our family was about to embark on yet another WDW excursion and I couldn’t resist purchasing this book for Rebekah.  My interest was peaked by the word “activity”, of course an interactive travel guide would promise loads of fun and gain the interest of one miniature travel planner.  I placed my order online at www.guidetothemagic.com  and impatiently waited for its arrival.  When we received our anticipated package, I scooped Rebekah up and plopped us on the couch for our exciting adventure through this unique travel guide.   Right away I was impressed with it’s presentation.  It is an 8 x 10 ½ spiral book with full page layouts of colorful photographs and detailed content.  It is made in a workbook style for your little traveler to complete fun trivia-esq questions.  This guide is more detailed than just simple explanations of each attraction.  The book starts off with a monorail scavenger hunt (each monorail having its own colored stripe), Hidden Mickey Hunts, and Characters Spottings.

I love the full page park map that begins each chapter, very simple to understand and navigate.

guide magica

They will find a, “Where am I” section with small pictures of locations within that part of the park, and a place to document their favorite attraction.  The book breaks down the park by section or land then adds a “Did you Know?”, “Extra Stuff”, “Looking for a Snack”, and “Great Shopping”.  There is a place for your mini traveler to rate each attraction and place an attraction identity sticker (provided by the book).  The back of the travel guide provides a place to record their daily travels -up to 2 weeks of vacation time, as well as documenting such things as weather, daily park attended, meals and more.  The guide ends with a section for character autographs and stickers they may receive from cast members.  This would be a great addition to any young Disney traveler’s vacation, keeping them informed and engaged before, during and after their magical trip.

Conquering a Mountain – Raising a Son and Keeping it Magical

Any mother who has raised a boy knows, there are ups and there are downs, and though the ride is bumpy, its full of excitement and great joy. My son Jordan will be 8 years old at the end of this month, and today we took a day to ourselves. Its the end of our Spring Break week , and my only vacation day during the holiday week. For him, it was a day to go to Disney World with his Mom, just me and him. To do whatever we wanted, without worrying about little sister. I told him we could do whatever HE wanted to do. For me, it was a one of those shooting star moments to reconnect with my son. Of course, this can happen anywhere – a trip to the Target, maybe over a dish of froyo. But every chance I get to put the gloves down and just be together, I take it. 2014 is the first year that we’ve had Annual Passes, and I fully intend to use them as much as possible. So today, our time together was spent in the home of another great man, Walt Disney.

I’m so thankful that Jordan loves Disney. He still loves the movies, even the Princess ones (he’ll never admit that). He watches the shows and cheers and waves at the parades. My son is NOT an outgoing kid by any stretch of the imagination. You have to strain to hear your first conversation with him, and he’s a man of few words. But he gets excited to see random characters in the park; to take photos in different spots (even though I may have to say poop or stinky socks to make him cheese), and to find hidden mickeys. He’s ridden the people mover probably 20x but every time it makes those sharp turns he giggles. Here’s a few People Mover selfies, and a spin on the Tomorrow Land Speedway – another one of his faves.

IMG_2552 IMG_2553 IMG_2554

IMG_2549

He had lunch at one of my favorite snack spots. Sleepy Hollow is home to the famed Nutella Waffle sandwich. I die. I decided to try the savory waffle sandwich this time.  Its a big ole’ belgian waffle with Ham, Prosciutto, Swiss cheese, lettuce and tomato. Jordan and I could’ve EASILY split that, but there is no way I’m going to Sleepy Hollow and not getting the Nutella goodness. We ate during Dream Along with Mickey, so we got a cool side view of the show. Jordan liked seeing the Cast Members behind some of the props and all the Characters  exiting. Who won the waffle battle – Nutella hands down. The ham was good, but that Nutella waffle still reigns as my favorite MK snack.

Look and drool:

IMG_2557 IMG_2559 IMG_2561 IMG_2560

We added a few firsts to this trip. It amazes me that as many times as I’ve visited the World, theres still stuff I haven’t done. Things that are old or outdated that get passed over time and time again. As a family we added Country Bear Jamboree, the Riverboat Cruise, Carousel of Progress and Hall of Presidents late last year and early this year. All things I’d done in my younger years, but my hubby and kids hadn’t. Today, Jordan and I added Tom Sawyer Island and Swiss Family Tree House. The tree house…eh….I can take it or leave it. One good view (see photo) but other than that, I don’t need to do it again. Jordan didn’t really care for it either. Tom Sawyer Island however, he really liked!! I didn’t realize there was such a large area to explore. And as always, details details details. Rocking chairs along the river, picnic tables, and plenty of benches to rest on make it a place you can really spend some time. Even bring a bag lunch and hide out under the shade of the trees. Jordan loved “shooting” the guns in the fort (yes they really make a shooting sound), and crawling through the dark caves and escape shafts. I watched him run and jump in front of me, and I smiled thinking, yup this is why. This is why I brought him. We found something new, something he really enjoyed, and he’s always going to remember that the first time we did Tom Sawyer Island, it was on that day over Spring Break when me and my Mom had a date at Disney World. At least thats how it goes in my mind 😉

IMG_2563 IMG_2565 IMG_2564 IMG_2546 IMG_2548

While on Tom Sawyer Island Jordan had a little bit of an epiphany. One more thing you have to know about Jordan. He’s a chicken. Jordan doesn’t like Disney for the rides lets put it that way. While on TSI, he stood on the bridge watching Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and I asked as I have many times before “You wanna go on?”. To my surprise, he said yes. Well, it wasn’t quite that easy. He said yes and then he said he wanted to watch a video of it on YouTube, which we have before. Then I had to compare the speed and velocity to that of every ride he has ever been on. Then, he had to poop. He said he had to use the restroom and then, we could go get in line. I couldn’t Fast Pass, but I wasn’t about to let the opportunity pass by, so I greed to wait in the then 70 minute wait. We talked and talked and talked. I wanted to keep the conversation going to keep his mind off his nerves. We talked about WWE, 2nd grade, and what rides he could conquer now that he was taking on BTMR. Splash Mountain maybe? We played Heads Up, and he started to get a little bit restless. The 2nd train broke down, so our 70 minutes turned into 90 minutes.  But finally the time had come. We sat in the first car, because its notoriously the slowest.

IMG_2566 IMG_2567 IMG_2569 IMG_2570

HE LOVED IT! He was nervous, but there were no tears – he didn’t once try to chicken out. He looked around as we went up the Mountain, checked out the goats and all. He was so proud of himself. He got off the ride and the first thing he wanted to do was call his Dad. We went to the Briar Patch store and can you believe there are no Thunder Mountain tee shirts?? That was a little disappointing, but nothing could take away this moment.

IMG_2571  IMG_2573 IMG_2572

I love this day. We will surely fight about homework, cleaning his room, tearing him away from the Xbox, and to STOP MESSING WITH YOUR SISTER! But through all of that we have our trips to Target, our afternoon dates over froyo, and this day. The day he went on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad for the first time, and he beamed all the way home. Thank you jesus. Thank you thank you thank you for this boy of mine.  XO

My Adventures with a New Found Friend ~ at Port Orleans Riverside

When Nicole and I booked our first Two Moms and a Mouse Trip last August, “Where shall we stay” was the first question that arose.  Of course we both would have loved to stay at a deluxe but we knew moderates were a more realistic budget decision.  We chose Port Orleans Riverside, this is Nicole’s favorite moderate resort.  I had never been but heard and read many wonderful reviews, so I was ready to experience a new layer of Disney.

DSC02351

As we entered the lobby doors to check in we were greeted by a light and airy welcome of pale yellow walls accented with white trim, dark woods and garden green wrought iron.  The lobby was like a depot for the east and west wings which were the River Roost, The Riverside Mill Food Court, Registration, Fulton’s General Store, and The Medicine Show Arcade.  I really liked this layout, spacious and a one stop shop, so to speak.

po4

While we were being checked in my eyes wandered the room.  There were huge paddle fans on the ceiling, crystal chandeliers and Nicole spotted a “Mickey Head” way up high.

po lobby

po5

I was anxious to get back to the car to search for our momentary magical dwelling.  We were on search for Magnolia Terrace; I relied on Nicole since these were familiar stomping grounds for her.  We parked and unloaded our luggage which was full of important park essentials, character shirts and mouse ears!  We were off on foot to find our door; there were many stairs to climb (this is where a deluxe resort elevator would have been nice).  I will spare you the details of our wrong twists and turns before we finally found our door, but no sooner did that door open, so did a bottle of wine ~ Cheers to our new venture Two Moms and a Mouse!

PO2

Now we were off to discover new uncharted territory, resort hopping!  We found our way to the docks and boarded a boat and headed down the Sassagoula River.

po10

po3

When we returned from our many adventures, some planned, some impromptu, we decided to sit by the pool to have a little girl talk and soak our tired feet.  We chose the quiet pool in our complex; it was very serene in the moonlight.  There was a pergola at the far end with large potted pants sporadically placed about.  It was the perfect atmosphere to unwind with my new found DBFF (Disney Best Friend Forever).

Our meals were eaten in the parks except for our last day when we dined on breakfast fare; it was your typical moderate resort offerings.  The dining area in the Riverside Mill was very spacious and had a large seating area.  The ordering/purchasing area resembled a barn, very organic looking.  I rather liked this space; it gave off a comforting at home feeling.   Next to the Riverside Mill is the River Roost Lounge, where Yeehaw Bob Jackson plays his untamed piano and a table service restaurant, Boat Wrights.

DSC02367

One rather late evening returning from Epcot we decided we must have some beignets; we had read via social media these were a must if staying at Port Orleans.  We were dropped off at the French Quarter side of town and found our way into their Food Court; WOW! How different it was!  I have to say, it made me a bit uneasy with all the gargantuan hanging paraphernalia, but I focused on the beignets being made in front of me.  OK, we were off with beignets in hand for our walk back to Riverside – walk you ask?  Yes, we walked back to Riverside; I know- what were we thinking?  We weren’t- that is what happens when woman get an idea in their head, especially when it involves food.  I dragged my listless body down the streets of French Quarter, not a soul was to be seen, no Mardi gras party going on here.  I glanced up through my sleepy blurred vision; the streets of French Quarter were very pretty.  There were tall buildings with wrought iron looking balconies attached; I could imagine beaded necklaces being tossed to me – of course for showing off my best assets- MOUSE EARS!  I literally didn’t think we would ever make it back to Riverside, I was so afraid Mousekeeping would find me laying on the walkway early the next morning – wait! – It was already the next morning!  Well, we did make it back to our room and you know what?  Those stinken beignets were not even worth it, they were just plain old fried dough balls – ugh wasted calories.  Off to Neverland, our heads hit our pillows within minutes and not even a Mickey Mouse was stirring by that time.

DSC02333

The next day was one of gloominess, not because it was raining- except for the tears that streamed down my cheeks.  I had to say goodbye to Nicole and to Mickey and to Walt Disney World.  We haphazardly packed our belongings and headed out the door – Good bye momentary magical dwelling.  We said our goodbyes to one another, Nicole drove away and I rolled my luggage back to Riverside’s main lobby.  Along the way I walked as slowly as I could, stopping to take some photos. We had spent all our time in the parks so I was not able to explore this beautiful terrain.  I checked my luggage with the kiosk outside the lobby and went exploring a bit more.  I made some new friends in Fulton’s General Store gift shop, lovely ladies who keep things looking just beautiful in there.  I grabbed a Mickey bar to go and sat on the bench awaiting the Magical Express – though I wasn’t feeling as magical as I would of liked but I sat with a heart full of happiness, it was a great journey ~

Two Moms Traveling World Showcase (without the kiddies)

Today we are visiting Epcot’s World Showcase –
Nicole and I had the opportunity to cruise the world and experience each countries delights. Whether it was a pint of ale with a basket of chips or a glass of wine beside Italy’s 14th century Doge’s Palace we were fully immersed in food, drink and culture. We roamed through gardens of Japan, strolled through streets of Morocco and toasted the Mariachi Cobre (an 11 piece instrumental group) with our authentic margaritas. We saluted World Showcase as we departed for the evening with great smiles upon our faces. Look for more fun filled ventures with Nic and Mo on the Go!

Do You Become the Captain on Disney Waterways?

Sitting here in NY on this winter day my thoughts bring me to warm sunny Disney Days. One thought stands out… an afternoon we spent cruising the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. We rented Sea Raycers and later on a 21′ Sun Tracker Pontoon; what a wonderful opportunity to view Magic Kingdom from this perspective. We sat idle in awe of the beauty of Cinderella Castle, we watched the monorail glide to and from the Magic Kingdom while the Ferries cruised by us. It was so peaceful to only hear the waves knock against the sides of the boat and feel the sun upon our face looking  onto such magnificence. These wonderful memories are what help me through these long NY winters…..

Under the Sea-Journey of the Little Mermaid Have you taken a ride under the sea? Tell us what you think about this attraction.

Nicole and I had a blast on our Two Moms and a Mouse trip. We were able to experience all our beloved attractions, dine in the restaurants we wanted, and meander however little or long we desired. It was a time for us to talk “Disney” and talk Disney we did. In doing so this very attraction was in question; was it all we hoped it would be. We adore the facade, it is grand and captivates you with excitement to see what is in store as you move through the queue. Once you board your Clamobile you are off on your journey under the sea. This is where we felt slightly let down. Though I am sure the technology behind the scenes is top notch, it just felt something was missing. We didn’t feel completely immersed in the “show” as we hoped to be.  What are your thoughts about this new addition to Fantasyland in Walt Disney World?
