Walt Disney World Resort- Guide to the Magic- For Kids

Author of book: Tim Foster

I found this children’s WDW travel guide while thumbing through a subscription of Celebrations Magazine (if you are not a subscriber I highly recommend it).

Our family was about to embark on yet another WDW excursion and I couldn’t resist purchasing this book for Rebekah.  My interest was peaked by the word “activity”, of course an interactive travel guide would promise loads of fun and gain the interest of one miniature travel planner.  I placed my order online at www.guidetothemagic.com  and impatiently waited for its arrival.  When we received our anticipated package, I scooped Rebekah up and plopped us on the couch for our exciting adventure through this unique travel guide.   Right away I was impressed with it’s presentation.  It is an 8 x 10 ½ spiral book with full page layouts of colorful photographs and detailed content.  It is made in a workbook style for your little traveler to complete fun trivia-esq questions.  This guide is more detailed than just simple explanations of each attraction.  The book starts off with a monorail scavenger hunt (each monorail having its own colored stripe), Hidden Mickey Hunts, and Characters Spottings.

I love the full page park map that begins each chapter, very simple to understand and navigate.

They will find a, “Where am I” section with small pictures of locations within that part of the park, and a place to document their favorite attraction.  The book breaks down the park by section or land then adds a “Did you Know?”, “Extra Stuff”, “Looking for a Snack”, and “Great Shopping”.  There is a place for your mini traveler to rate each attraction and place an attraction identity sticker (provided by the book).  The back of the travel guide provides a place to record their daily travels -up to 2 weeks of vacation time, as well as documenting such things as weather, daily park attended, meals and more.  The guide ends with a section for character autographs and stickers they may receive from cast members.  This would be a great addition to any young Disney traveler’s vacation, keeping them informed and engaged before, during and after their magical trip.
