Birnbaum official Disney Guides
My very first adult Disney travel guide was a Birnbaum Guide so I was excited to find one for kids and I think this one is a winner. They are updated (usually) on a yearly basis, so make sure to purchase the current year you are visiting your Disney destination. I purchased this for my daughter at age 2 ½ though she clearly could not read at that time. It was her first trip to the parks and I just couldn’t resist, being a Disney book enthusiast. If I were to be realistic with my travel guide purchase, I would say from age7 on is appropriate for this book. My favorite feature of this guide is that children helped to co-write it. Surveys were sent out to the first 1000 kids who were interested in being a part of the book. In doing so all the attractions, resorts, restaurants, and “Everything Else in the World” are kid rated along with their expertise tips on what is must fun according to their views. It doubles and triples as a scrapbook with an autograph section as well. It reads in simple text for young travelers and to increase the fun and coolness factor each attraction features a Young Reader Review complete with their picture, age, town and state they live in. If your little one is an investigator they will enjoy the Hidden Mickey Alerts sprinkled throughout the guide. Involving your mini vacationer is great fun for you and them; I definitely recommend this as an A-rated purchase.
